Wuling Boston Harbor Overnight
Friday, August 21st to Saturday, August 22nd, 2009
Hurricane Bill shortened our Wuling mini-cruise to one overnight at Peddock's. Had a very spirited sail with winds at 25-30
kts from the SE/S. Staysail, main and mizzen from the inner harbor cruising at 7-8 kts. Note the smiles. Sailed out through Hypocrite
Channel and back in Nantasket Roads to pick up a mooring at Peddock's Island. Chris and Ling go for a quick swim before dinner. Breezy,
tropical feel to the evening. Not much wind Saturday morning. Tried sailing but eventually gave in to motorsailing. Exciting lack
of engine just off the dock but luckily Ling and Chris got it started again during a brief rain shower and we were able
to get in to the dock just before tanker traffic picked up.
Deer Island gets windmills!
Chris takes Wuling out through Hypocrite Channel -- great breeze, puffy clouds in blue sky. Wow, what a nice afternoon!
Swim temperature
but no swim pix -- oops.
Returning to Boston Harbor Saturday morning... note modern 3 masted schooner!
Smiling faces heading out Boston Harbor!
